This month, the new release, The Haunting of Guaritori Diolco, the second book in the World Unbalanced series,  is on sale for $0.99, as is the first book, The Strange Case of Guaritori Diolco. The description of the new book in the series is below. Here is a link to the series page for an easy look at all three books: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2GKJ7PG.

Below the Haunting sample, you can see Substack previews for some retellings of ancient myths that pair well with the my use of mythology in a modern setting that you find in the World Unbalanced books.

The Haunting of Guaritori Diolco

Garth is just beginning to adjust to the strange new world in which old myths are all too real when disaster strikes once again. He and his friends are lured into a series of ambushes in the Egyptian desert. But these prove to be a cakewalk compared to the danger Garth faces when he’s accused of killing Hermes.

Even though Garth is innocent, the death of a supposedly immortal being creates an imbalance in the Olympian plane that could cause it to collapse, If it does, that could lead to another crisis in an already unstable human world.

Garth might be able to avert another catastrophe. But in order to so, he needs to convince the grandson who hates him to join Olympian society. He also has to die.

Is there another way out, or is Garth doomed?

I am extremely thankful for god and everything that he’s blessed me with. Some may not see it as a lot. I don’t have a luxurious life. But I have the air in my lungs, a roof over my head, and some food.

  2. Thank you, Mr. Hiatt.
I’m grateful for the ability to have been blessed to have opened my eyes this morning. To have the ability to not only read, but to escape the … turbulence of this world. To be blessed by stories and worlds created by you and others. And to have a chance at a blessing of which to obtain necessities and maybe small gifts for others, and perhaps myself.
    Thank you.

  3. I am grateful for my children and grandchildren whom I love more than anything else. I’m also grateful for the many, many writers out there who have kept me entertained for over 65 years.

  4. The title sounds mysterious and exciting. Just my kind of story. I am really looking forward to diving into the world of Guaritori Diolco soon.

  5. I’m thankful for hot showers. I can relax at the end of the day, take a good long hot soak in the shower and jump in a nice clean bed!

  7. I am grateful for many things, including the luxury of reading for fun and for looking through contests such as this one.

I should also mention that I like the cover of “Haunting of Guaritori Diolco.” It reminds me of the book “Dune” because of the sand dune, and because it has one person in a major role. Anyway, good day to you! 🙂

  8. I’m thankful to have my very own home, and to share it with the ones I love most. I’ve hit the jackpot in life

  9. I’m thankful to have my husband by my side. In November 2023 he was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and was told he had 2 years. Here we are 2 years later and he’s been given a clean bill of health in June.
