February Reading

Since I featured my first book in January, it seems fitting to feature my second book, Divided against Yourselves, this month. It’s also the second book in the Spell Weaver series. You can find information on the series as a whole at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XXC9ZLJ.

Below the information on Divided against Yourselves,  you can find a link to the Substack serials, The Imperator’s Spy, an epic fantasy which is still in the process of being written and released. Hopefully, it will become the first novel in a new series eventually.

Divided against Yourselves

Taliesin Weaver thought that he had saved himself and his friends when he defeated the witch Ceridwen. He was wrong. He always thought of evil as embodied in external threats that he could overcome in combat. Soon he will discover that the worst evil has been inside of him all along.

Tal’s girlfriend is in a coma for which he holds himself responsible. A close friend, suffering from a past-life memory trauma similar to Tal’s, is getting worse, not better. Morgan Le Fay is still lurking around and has an agenda Tal can’t figure out. Supernatural interruptions in his life are becoming more frequent, not less so, despite his expectations. In fact, Tal learns that something about his unique nature amplifies otherworldly forces in ways he never imagined were possible, ways that place at risk everyone close to him.

Tal and his allies must face everything from dead armies to dragons. As soon as they overcome one menace, another one is waiting for them. More people are depending on Tal than ever; he carries burdens few adults could face, let alone a sixteen-year-old like himself. Yet somehow Tal at first manages to handle everything the universe throws at him.

What Tal can’t handle is the discovery that a best friend, almost a brother, betrayed him, damaging Tal’s life beyond repair. For the first time, Tal feels a darkness within him, a darkness which he can only barely control–assuming he wants to. He’s no longer sure. Maybe there is something to be said for revenge, and even more to be said for taking what he wants. After all, he has the power.

  1. I like romance movies that include action… like superman, the matrix, pearl harbor, fast and furious, Armageddon and tv shows like Chuck, Smallville, buffy, vampire dairies.

  2. Bill thank you for continuing to introduce us to so many books and authors. I really enjoy looking through all that are posted and picking out the ones that speak to me!

  3. I read too many to have a single favorite, so I always put down one from many years ago–Dawn’s Early Light by Thane. There is actually an entire series (Williamsburg Series) and they are all good.

  4. i don’t really have a favorite romance but i love to read good mysteries. i reread the curious incident of the dog inthe nighttime at least once a year

  5. My favourite romance movie is The Holiday starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. It’s a feel good movie.

  6. I’ve always loved Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It’s such an honest take on love, memory and why we still hold onto relationships even when they’re messy.

  7. My favorite romance novel is “Pride and Prejudice.” I have read it many times and always recommend it. I also like its film adaptations.

  8. Romance novels are not my thing, but my favorite book of all time is Watership Down by Richard Adams. You can’t beat a book about rabbits fleeing their doomed home to find a new one.

  9. I’ll never get tired of Pride and Prejudice. The slow tension and clever banter just feel perfect every time.

  10. My favorite romance right now is ‘Book Lovers’ by Emily Henry. There is a many books is this universe but this my favorite.

  11. My favourite romance is Hilary Duff’s Elixir! Such a beautiful world created in there… a great escape and so romantic.

  12. Happy February everyone! The romance movie that really left an impression on me is Titanic! I love the film from the start to end!

  13. I think movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind perfectly portrayed the importance of memories even if they were bad. My favorite so far!

  14. I remember the first romance novel that held my attention and I still think about it: Never Call It Loving by Dorothy Eden.

  15. My favorite romance movie has to be “There’s something about Mary”. However, I think it was more of a romantic comedy than a pure romance genre film. It’s been a long time since I watched it, but I remember it being quite funny and worth watching.

  16. Favorite romance movie…. Either you hate it or love it, I love it…. What dreams may come. It’s dark but feel love finds a way. Another great one that’s under rated is “mad love” with Chris O’Donnell and Drew Barrymore
