  1. Thinking about it, I don’t think I ever read a book where Halloween played major part in the plot. Thinking of horrors, Clive Barker – WeaveWorld.

  2. My favorite Halloween themed book would be Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I like anthology series, even in horror movies. I like the feeling that there is another dose of horror at the next corner. Thank you Mr. Hiatt for the opportunity.

  3. All Hallow’s Eve by Michael Penning is my favorite Halloween-themed fantasy book. I had to sleep with the lights on after reading it at bedtime!

  4. I don’t have a favourite Halloween themed book but my two favourite books are ‘The Stand’ and ‘Bag of Bones’ by Stephen King.

  5. Slewfoot is my favorite scary book. It akes place in Puritan times. Fantasy creatures and a fantasy world exist side by side with the Puritan way of life . This magical world is waking up and impacting their way of life.

  6. I don’t really mind the SPOOKY stuff as I can’t take anything gruesome. However, I prefer to do arts and crafts to decorate my house with some cute Halloween decor to welcome the holiday in my home. Plus, a few occasional cute Halloween movies is always a plus with the family. <3

  7. My favorite Halloween themed fantasy book is “The Halloween Tree”.
The Halloween Tree is a 1972 fantasy novel by American writer Ray Bradbury, which traces the history of Samhain and Halloween.

  8. This is just spooktacular! My favorite is Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. Thanks for the chance and for doing this seriously wicked giveaway. Wishing everyone an incredibly wonder-fall season filled with smiles and bit of magic! Fingers crossed! Good luck all!

  9. I’m not a fan of Halloween but I do adore autumn in all it’s glory from sweaters to soups, apple picking and baking!

  10. Does Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather count? It’s sort of like Nightmare Before Christmas in that it’s kind of both Halloween and Christmas. It’s an excellent story either way. Susan and DEATH are favorites of mine

  11. Not sure if it counts as halloween themed but I read Skulduggery Pleasant when I was younger, I don’t read many halloween themed books to be honest.

  12. When I think of creepy stories perfect for Halloween, I think of my favorite collection growing up, “Tales of the Midnight Hour.”

  13. Black Cipher by Payne Harrison – part of this book is set in Chitose, Japan on Hokkaido. I was stationed there for 2 years and enjoyed the author’s view of this obscure tiny city.

  14. The Bone Garden by Heather Kassner

A young girl tethered to the world by magic and imagination must uncover what makes the bones in the graveyard come alive.

  15. Not much into the fantasy genre (the last book I read was horrible) – but Halloween I like to dress up as a black cat

  16. I like the Laurell Hamilton series with werewolves, vampires, and fairies, so my fantasy Halloween book would be Jason (in Halloween) meets Anita Blake (vampire killer).

  17. I haven’t ready many Halloween themed books! I enjoyed Goosebumps as a kid, and I suppose the last horror novel I read was Between Two Fires, which I quite enjoyed!

  18. It’s not strictly a Halloween book, but there’s a special place in my heart for “Interview With a Vampire” because I first “read” it as an audio book. We were driving on a 1,100 mile trip and crossing the mountains of Virginia. The nearly deserted road was winding it’s way up and those mountains, following the path of a stream. Tall white-barked birches stretched for miles in every direction and stood like sentinels against the black sky. It was nearly midnight and a rainstorm had rolled in, bringing with it the flash of nearby lightning. “Uh…that’s it!” my husband said. “Enough spooky stories. Turn the music…the LOUD music on.”

  19. Tuesday Mooney Talks To Ghosts by Kate Racculia – a group of misfits are sent on a treasure hunt by a dead billionaire. The pop-culture references alone make this book a delight to read around Halloween!

  20. Pet Sematary by Stephen King – the Creed family moves to a new house in Maine near a path that leads to a “pet cemetery”. It’s a classic!

  21. It by Stephen king is a Masterpiece of horror.A wonderful novel. It hooks from the firts page and You won’t want to stop reading it.
Very entertaining and with a great history

  22. The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury is a classic choice! It’s a whimsical read involoving a group of children that go on a supernatural journey through space and time discovering the true meaning of Halloween.

  23. My favorite Halloween-themed fantasy book is Hallowe’en Party by Agatha Christie because I feel nothing beats reading a good mystery story set around Halloween. Thanks for the fantastic opportunity to win!
