    My father has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. These past months have been very difficult. Among the hurt and the sadness, I am thankful for having a wonderful mother, my father’s wife, who has been by his side giving him all the care and love my father needs to pass his last days feeling loved by all of us.

    I’m thankful for my family and being able to bring my kids with me when I work. Living on a farm I’m able to take the kids in the semi to deliver grain, in the tractor, and in the shiny new red case ih combine. At the end of the day the kids feed the cows hay and we go home and eat dinner together.

    I am thankful that I will not be alone this Thanksgiving. I have two beautiful, loving cats that make my life worth living again. I thought I was saving them, but they were the ones who saved me. Their love, affection, and companionship have not only helped me climb out of a deep, dark depression and feelings of loneliness and worthlessness but have given me purpose and a reason to live.

    I’m thankful for the friends and family that are still here. We lost my Uncle November 12th and my 18 year old nephew in the Ohio bus/semi accident on Nov. 14th. We miss them both dearly.

    This thanksgiving, I am truly thankful for my fiance helping me take in my sisters children so they would not be homeless. I am thankful we were able to get my nieces teeth fixed since she has had broken teeth for years. I am thankful we were finally able to get my sisters daughters diagnosis of autism so that they can get the services they need, and I am thankful we were able to start these services for them. I am also thankful we were able to help aleviate the stress of daddy not being around, and mommy’s mental health issues. I am thankful we were able to get insurance for them and to have their pull-ups finally covered by this insurance. This is a very thankful year for us.
