December Reading

As the old year ends, those of you who are just discovering my writing may wish to go back to the beginning. Living with Your Past Selves, my very first book (published September 2012) is still available for the low price of $0.99.

Being a teenager can be tough. Being able to remember hundreds of past lives is even tougher. Being stalked by an enemy from one of those past lives with a hidden agenda is far worse. Taliesin Weaver came to terms with the way his past intruded on his present, but he’s about  to find out how difficult to is to deal with a powerful enemy whose identity and purpose are both unknown. Failure to solve that mystery could cost Tal his life–or worse.

At the bottom of this column, you can find a preview of the book.

Living with Your Past Selves is the first book in the Spell Weaver series. You can visit the series page here.

The Spell Weaver Series is also connected to the Substack serial, North of Midnight, which you can find here.

        1. I love watching all Christmas movies but one I absolutely have to make sure I watch is “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

    1. Stephanie Sandoval

      “Stephanie”
Seems like a very interesting book!
I look forward to reading this book as it seems to relate to me . Thanks for the opportunity.

  1. I have fond memories of watching the old school Christmas stories, I believe they were characters made of felt, and some stories were clay mation, as well as animation. Gotta respect the time, creativity, sheer talent of old school art.

  2. Favorite Holiday Movie: The Nightmare Before Christmas (and then naturally, usually watch Corpse Bride afterwards).

  3. One of my favorite holiday movies is Home Alone. It’s a classic tale of a young boy, Kevin, who gets accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation. He hilariously outsmarts a pair of bumbling burglars trying to break into his house. The movie is heartwarming and packed with humor, making it a perfect watch for the holiday season. Plus, it reminds us of the importance of family and the magic of being resourceful!

  4. One of my favorite holiday books is “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. It’s a timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve. These ghostly visits help him realize the errors of his ways, leading to a heartwarming transformation. The story beautifully encapsulates themes of redemption, generosity, and the true spirit of Christmas. Plus, Dickens’ writing is simply enchanting!

  5. My fave holiday movies are Lampoon’s for Silly movie and Christmas Carol for Serious movie. Both are annual traditions, and a lot of times I don’t really feel like the holiday season has properly started unless I’ve watched them both.

  6. Funny, just when I was reading a debate about whether Spider-Man was a holiday movie because it has a Thanksgiving scene, here comes Mr. Hiatt’s question! lol I think my favorite holiday movie has to be Home Alone. Not only do I enjoy that movie and its sequel a lot, but they remind me of my father who used to laugh so hard while watching them. I miss my father so much. Happy holidays to you all and to you too Mr. Hiatt.
